Checking for Hardware Virtualization Support on Linux

From the “Note to future self who will inevitably be looking for this” files — hardware-assisted virtualization (CPU-supported) is expressed in CPU flags, but AMD and Intel each have their own. Intel’s is the “vmx” flag, while AMD’s is “svm“. The fastest way to check for this is cat /proc/cpuinfo | egrep "(vmx|svm)".
